Marine Corps Reserve Center and Vehicle Maintenance Facility

LJB provided civil design services for the 36,000-square-foot new reserve center and vehicle maintenance facility located on approximately 10 acres on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This facility has administration offices, classrooms, drill hall, medical offices, medical equipment storage, and two enclosed vehicle maintenance bays to support the mission of the MP Company C. Key tasks included site layout, grading, as well as water, sanitary and storm utilities.

Anti-terrorism/force protection measures were also incorporated. The new facility was designed to be durable, energy-efficient and sustainable, and replaced the Marines’ previous home, a deteriorating 1950s-era building located in a high-crime area. Building a new facility on base provides the Marines with a modern, properly configured facility that is located within the fenced secure perimeter of the base.

This quality work space also supports the unit’s ability to retain and adequately train its members for deployment.
