The City of Sidney selected LJB Inc. and DAB Designs to begin the design and plan development for the Zenas King Bridge Rehabilitation project. The purpose of this project was to preserve a historic structure and to create a new connection between two trails in Tawawa Park, located in the City of Sidney, Ohio. The scope of the project included relocation of the historic Zenas King Arch bridge from rural Shelby County, Ohio, and reconstruction of the bridge in the park. LJB was responsible for overall project coordination, bridge design review, environmental studies and project management. DAB Designs was responsible for the specialized historic bridge design.
The design was completed in the fourth quarter of 2018 and construction was completed in September 2020. The LJB/DAB team successfully completed a design that was accomplished for a construction cost $31,000 below the City’s budget.
