Working as a consultant to NCDOT, LJB’s Chris Dustin provided consulting services for spraying herbicides from a UAS platform to address an invasive species (Phragmites australis) on Bodie Island. These services are performed under the Bodie Island Lighthouse Pond Mitigation project and as part of wetland mitigation impacts associated with the NC 12 Replacement of the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge over the Oregon Inlet. The project area is within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Park. Chris provides onsite reconnaissance and implementation support. Additionally, LJB assisted in developing the initial plan; developing an understanding of the UAS platform’s software and hardware components; and determining the platform’s capabilities and limitations.
